    Yes, it is compatible with ALL types and brands of 50-50 mix antifreeze including conventional yellow, orange, pink, red, blue and green silicate based & non-silicate based (OAT/HOAT) antifreeze, and/or water. Systems that are dirty or partially clogged, a flush is recommended before use.

  • Can it be installed in a diesel engine?

    Yes, it works with ALL gasoline and diesel engines. This heavy duty formula works on aluminum and cast iron heads & blocks, along with sealing all other engine cooling system leaks better than a traditional stop leak. This includes repairing head gaskets, cylinder heads, intake gaskets, cracked blocks and freeze plugs.

  • How does this type of product work?

    This Head Gasket Fix formulation contains a combination of antifreeze compatible sodium silicate sealing liquid and various size gasket sealing particles which penetrate gaps & cracks and harden to permanently stop leaks.

  • What if I don’t have direct access to the radiator?

    If direct access to radiator is unavailable and if reservoir / overflow tank is pressurized, you can install in tank. Otherwise remove top hose where it connects to the top of the radiator and install product in hose. Reattach hose and tighten clamp.

    One (24 oz) bottle treats cooling systems from 6 quarts (1.5 gallons) to 16 quarts (4.0 gallons). Use 1⁄2 bottle for smaller cooling systems from 4 quarts (1.0 gallon) to 5.9 quarts (1.49 gallons). For larger systems use 1 bottle for every 4 gallons.

  • I accidently added the Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix into my gas tank, what should I do?

    Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix is only designed to be added to the cooling system. If the product is installed in the gas tank, the tank should be removed and cleaned out by a professional mechanic. Do not start or drive vehicle.

  • I accidently added the Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix into my engine oil, what should I do?

    Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix is only designed to be added to the cooling system. If the product is installed in the engine oil and the engine has not been started, in many cases you can remove the valve cover and drain the oil leaving the drain plug off. Then use an engine flush washing out the head keeping special attention to the oil return holes that run down to the oil pan. Clean these out and pour the engine flush down these holes flushing everything into the oil pan and out the drain hole. If the engine has been run, you need to take the vehicle to have a professional mechanic evaluate what can be done to clean the inside of the engine. This might include taking the engine apart to clean all of the parts.

  • Will Bar’s Leaks plug my heater core?

    No, Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix will not clog your clean heater core, it is safe and effective.
    Note: If using Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket Fix to stop heater core leaks, make sure you turn your heater control to HOT. Some vehicles have a valve that controls coolant flow through the core.

  • “Bar's Leaks "Head Gasket Fix 1-Step" should be sold at church. It's a miracle. This past winter was hard on my 1998 Audi 2,8 V6. At about 215K the alternator went and the coolant pump/timing belt followed soon after. Probably caused by putting-off the coolant pump repair work due to money resources, the head gasket blew a short time later. With the head gasket leaking, but the coolant pump fixed, I was using about a gallon of coolant every 100 miles. My mechanic suggested trying a liquid gasket fix instead of a costly head gasket repair. I tried Bar's Leaks "Head Gasket Fix 1-Step" and it sealed everything up for about 2500 miles with no coolant added! At first I was easy on the engine and then, at the 2500 mile mark, I was moderately hard on the engine performance - particularly acceleration. Then the seal let go a little but still works! I am averaging about a gallon of coolant added every 2500 miles. The Audi has 227K miles now.

    The 800 phone number is in bold print on the container so I figured Bar's Leak was inviting a call. Tech support on two occasions was excellent.
