Testimonial Highlight: Art T. from Saratoga Springs, NY

1010 PNGArt T. from Saratoga Springs, NY recently wrote to our support department with the following story:

I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring 2.7 V6, notorious for oil light sensor problems (thus check engine light). Verified all over the web! Without a Remedy?  One night @ 25 degrees below zero, I noticed oil leaking. I purchased a bottle of Bar’s Leaks Engine Oil Stop Leak. I assure you, like they were riding with me, after 200 miles & approximately 3 days, as predicted on the directions, the leak was ENTIRELY gone! In addition & serendipitously, the oil light shut off, for the FIRST time in over a year & 10,000 miles! I reset the Check Engine light & passed NY State Emissions Inspection with no further leaks or oil or Check Engine Lights in over a year & additional 10,000 Miles. A miracle in a bottle!

The product Art is talking about is our Bar’s Leaks Engine Oil Stop Leak, which is easily one of our most popular in the engine category.

Art, thanks for writing! We appreciate you taking the time!

Winter Is Coming: Get Ready for Cooling System Stop Leak and Head Gasket Repair Demand

Let’s be honest: winter is hard on vehicle cooling systems. The colder it gets, the more your cooling system is taxed to keep the engine at a constant operating temperature. As a result, many vehicles develop a variety of cooling system and head gasket leaks when the weather turns extremely cold. We see it every year.

Here’s our VP of product development: “In general, our customers see a spike in sales of all Bar’s Leaks® cooling system stop leaks and head gasket repair products when the first big cold front moves across the United States.”

Simple and true.

HG-1 PNG old
Professional Carbon Fiber Block Seal Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant (p/n HG1) is one of our newest premium products (if you read this blog regularly, you’ve seen some testimonials we’ve received from customers on this already).

Developed for professional technicians but available to do-it-yourselfers as well, HG1 is the strongest formula available to permanently seal any coolant leak in plastic, cast iron, copper, and aluminum radiators, heater cores, freeze plugs, gaskets, intake manifolds, cylinder heads and engine blocks. It repairs blown head and intake gasket leaks, seals cracked cylinder heads and blocks, stops heater core and radiator leaks, fixes leaking freeze and core plugs, and stops overheating in any water-cooled car, truck, van or SUV.

It’s our best formulation, period.

Unlike other products, our Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant is antifreeze-compatible, so there’s no need to flush the cooling system before using it. It also doesn’t need to be removed at the end of the repair, which means that the product stays in the vehicle to protect the cooling system against future leaks long after the initial repair.

So you’re asking, “If it’s so good, how’s it work?”

Here’s how: our formula combines liquid glass (sodium silicate) with aramid and refractory fibers: the same super-strong, heat-resistant materials used in bulletproof vests and fireproof clothing. The formula is further reinforced with carbon fiber to bridge larger leaks and create a truly permanent seal that is stronger than the original head gasket itself. Our HG1 also features the proprietary wetting agent Xtreme Cool®. Xtreme Cool reduces the surface tension of coolant, increasing its wetting ability, while improving heat transfer and reducing coolant temperature.

It’s a lot of science in one bottle.

Bar’s Leaks Head Gasket & Cooling Sealant is compatible with all types of antifreeze, including conventional green or blue (silicate-based) and extended life red/orange or yellow (OAT/HOAT). No matter what you run, you should be good to go.
